FUNDRAISING FEAST OF THE PARISH FOR THE RESTORATION OF FRESCO 300.
Mansion will be held in three days of celebrations with a religious background with the intent to find the funds to complete the restoration of the Church of Our Lady of Grace. The church
built by the Confraternity of Santa Maria "was originally a hospital dating from the thirteenth century, is located within the fresco of 1371 by an unknown artist depicting the Madonna in the process of breast-feeding baby Jesus. The event was conceived and promoted by the Parish of Mansfield and will place on September 5-6-7, now also supported associations such magionesi Pro Magione Tourist Center Senior Citizens and in particular, but also by AVIS, University of the Third Age, the Workers' Association, Mercy Fraternity, the Committee of St. Anthony and the band of Magione.
Saturday 6 there will be a big feast of self-financing in the gardens of the parish open to all citizens booked at the information office in Piazza della Repubblica (tel. 075 843859). To follow will be held in the church of Madonna delle Grazie a classical music concert with the soprano and the pianist Simone Silvia Vayente Amedei.
The main event will be the solemn procession on Sunday pomeriggio alle ore 17,30 per le vie del paese. Da ogni rione magionese infatti, partiranno delle piccole processioni di fedeli che verranno poi radunate davanti alla chiesa stessa per svolgere tutti insieme la manifestazione. Domenica sera invece si esibirà la Banda Filarmonica G. Biancalana insieme al gruppo di Majorettes per le vie del centro, inoltre, durante tutte le sere, sarà attivo un punto di ristoro presso “l’ortone” della chiesa di San Giovanni Battista insieme alla classica lotteria e alla ruota della fortuna.
